Two Teenagers Injured in Pattaya Motorcycle Crash After Rider Falls Asleep

Pattaya, Thailand– Two teenagers were injured in a motorcycle accident early on Christmas Day when the rider reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing the bike to veer off course and slam into the rear of a parked pickup truck.

The incident occurred at approximately midnight on December 25th, 2025, in Soi Khao Talo 1. Rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya received the report and quickly dispatched volunteers to the scene.

At the site, rescuers found a heavily damaged white-and-red Yamaha Fino scooter embedded in the rear of an orange Nissan pickup truck, which was parked along the roadside. Debris from the motorcycle was scattered across the road.

The two injured riders were identified as 16-year-old Mr. Naruthep, the driver, who suffered a torn wound to his mouth and abrasions across his body, and 17-year-old Ms. Sarida, the passenger, who had a split lip and similar abrasions. Rescue workers provided initial first aid before rushing both to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Preliminary statements from the injured teenagers indicated they were heading home when the driver became drowsy and dozed off, causing the motorcycle to lose control and collide with the stationary vehicle.

Authorities plan to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident. They have also issued a public reminder for motorists to ensure they get sufficient rest, particularly when driving at night, to prevent similar incidents and potential loss of life.
