Pattaya, Thailand– A 52-year-old foreign tourist was rushed to a local hospital with an ankle injury after a drunken challenge to a one-on-one fistfight outside a beer bar in Jomtien went badly wrong early on Christmas morning.
Police from Pattaya City Police Station received a report of a brawl involving an injured person at around 2:00 a.m. on December 25th, 2025. The incident occurred in front of a bar located in the Rompho Market area of Jomtien. Officers coordinated with rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya to provide urgent assistance.
At the scene, in a lively beer bar zone packed with Thai and foreign tourists who had gathered in alarm, rescuers found the injured man, identified as Mr. Baker, aged 52 (nationality not confirmed), lying on the ground. He appeared heavily intoxicated and had sustained an injury to his right ankle. Rescue workers provided first aid before transporting him to hospital. Remarkably, during treatment, the man remained in high spirits, moving his body and dancing to the beat of nearby music without showing signs of pain.
An anonymous bar employee told The Pattaya News that prior to the fight, two groups of foreign tourists had been drinking inside a bar establishment. A minor argument escalated into heated verbal exchanges, after which Mr. Baker challenged his opponent to settle the dispute with a mano-a-mano fistfight outside the bar. However, he was quickly overpowered, beaten, and knocked to the ground, causing chaos as other tourists and staff rushed to intervene. The assailant took advantage of the confusion to flee the scene.
Investigators from Pattaya City Police Station have visited the site and are coordinating to obtain CCTV footage from the bar and surrounding areas. Authorities plan to compile evidence and track down the suspect for questioning and legal action.
