Pattaya, December 23rd, 2025 – The Pheu Thai Party’s Chonburi branch declared its full readiness for the upcoming general election, holding a major members’ meeting to conduct a primary vote process for selecting prospective candidates across all 10 electoral districts.
The event took place at the Grand Palazzo Hotel in Banglamung district, Pattaya, where party members gathered to listen to opinions and proceed with the democratic intra-party selection mechanism.
Presiding over the opening of the primary vote meeting was Mr. Songprom Chai Nimmanakul, appointed by the Pheu Thai executive committee to oversee election affairs in Chonburi province.
During the session, guidelines and procedures for the primary vote were explained in detail. Prospective candidates for all 10 constituency seats were introduced, with each given the opportunity to present themselves, share their visions, and outline their work plans to party members. This allowed members to vote in selecting the official candidates for both constituency and party-list positions. The party’s core policies were also presented.

– District 2: Mr. Kongphat Kairat
– District 3: Mr. Phayu Nuengchamnong
– District 4: Mr. Likhit Atchawacharuwan
– District 5: Mr. Pramuan Empia
– District 6: Mr. Sarkrit Phonluk-in
– District 7: Mr. Naruephon Niyomthap
– District 8: Mr. Chanyut Hengtrakul
– District 9: Mr. Ratthakit Hengtrakul
– District 10: Mr. Akkaraset Raksakulsongchai
Nearly 100 local Pheu Thai members in Chonburi participated in the primary vote process.
The Pattaya News notes that the primary vote is a legal requirement allowing party members to directly participate in candidate selection, rather than decisions being made solely by the executive committee. This decentralizes power, fosters internal democracy, and strengthens candidates’ connections to local voter bases.
The process complies with the 2017 Organic Act on Political Parties, which mandates such democratic selection methods to enhance the strength and democratic nature of political parties.
Thailand’s general election for Members of the House of Representatives is scheduled for Sunday, February 8th, 2026. Candidate registration for constituency seats in Chonburi will occur from December 27–31, 2025, between 08:30 and 16:30, at the Bansuan Municipality Community Hall in Chonburi city.
