Pattaya Deputy Mayor Joins National Disability Assembly to Discuss Local Government Role in Enhancing Quality of Life for Persons with Disabilities

Pathum Thani, Thailand – December 22nd, 2025 – Damrongkiat Pinijkarn, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, participated in a panel discussion on the role of local government organizations in promoting and improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities during the National Assembly of Persons with Disabilities and the Annual General Meeting.

The event, held at the Asia Airport Hotel (located in the Zeer Rangsit shopping complex) in Pathum Thani Province, brought together relevant partner networks and business owners.

Organized by the National Council of All Types of Disabilities of Thailand, the three-day assembly (December 22–24, 2025) is themed “Advancing Disability Work in Collaboration with Local Government Organizations Toward Practical Implementation at the Local and Community Levels.”

The gathering serves as a platform for supporting and exchanging knowledge on the current situation, challenges, and obstacles faced by members, including various disability organizations, provincial councils of persons with disabilities, and related networks.

The event also is to collectively drive and monitor the implementation of laws and policies related to persons with disabilities in a concrete manner, as well as report on the association’s activities over the past year.

A total of 672 participants attended, including executive committee members of the association, representatives from various disability organizations, provincial councils of persons with disabilities, disability experts, and partner networks.

The association invited the Director of the Social Welfare Office to join as a speaker, exchanging views on the topic “The Role of Local Government Organizations in Promoting and Developing the Quality of Life for Persons with Disabilities,” to inform future public awareness efforts and advance disability-related initiatives at the local level.
