Banglamung, Chonburi – Residents in a residential area of Chonburi province have been urged to heighten security following a bizarre theft of underwear captured clearly on surveillance footage.
The incident came to light on the evening of December 21st, 2025, when 35-year-old Amornchai Srisawat, a perfume vendor, reported the theft to authorities. Mr. Amornchai stated that underwear belonging to him and his girlfriend had been stolen from a drying rack outside their rented room on Moo 1 in the Khao Maikaew sub-district.
Review of CCTV footage revealed the crime occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. on the same day. A slim-built suspect arrived on a white Honda MSX motorcycle, parking in front of the rental unit. He then proceeded to the rear, lifting an entire stainless steel square drying rack containing more than 10 pieces of underwear and bras.
The footage captured disturbing behavior: the man was seen sniffing some of the stolen items before stuffing them inside his jacket. He then fled the scene on his motorcycle toward Highway 331.
Mr. Amornchai added that this was not the first theft at the property. Previously, a stainless steel barbecue grill had been stolen, leading him to suspect the same suspect may be responsible and operating in nearby areas.
The victim has called on local residents in Khao Maikaew to remain vigilant, particularly at night, by securing valuables indoors and avoiding leaving personal items outside.
Authorities are currently compiling the CCTV evidence for a formal police report, with hopes that the suspect will be swiftly apprehended to prevent further incidents in the community.
