Chonburi Governor Presides Over Flag-Raising Ceremony for 33rd SEA Games at Pattaya Hotel

Pattaya, Thailand – December 11th, 2025, 6:00 p.m.

Chonburi Governor Naris Niramaiwong chaired the official flag-raising ceremony for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) at the Wyndham Jomtien Pattaya Hotel on Thursday evening.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials and athletes from all participating nations, marking a symbolic start to the upcoming regional sporting spectacle.

Among the dignitaries present were Thatchanath Thongkomol, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (Strategy and Technology Division); Rear Admiral Apiwat Sriwarrathana, Treasurer and Deputy Head of the Thai delegation representing the President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand; Khwanruan Srijan, Senior Provincial Chief of Chonburi; Pattaya City Mayor Poramet Ngampichet; heads of government agencies; and full contingents of athletes and officials from the ASEAN member countries.

During the ceremony, national flags of every competing nation were solemnly raised, followed by an exchange of commemorative gifts presented to team representatives. The event built a warm atmosphere of friendship, sportsmanship, and regional cooperation ahead of the Games.

Thailand is set to host the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 across Bangkok and Chonburi provinces, with thousands of athletes expected to compete in over 40 sports.
