Sanctuary of Truth Releases 890,000 Marine Animals into Pattaya Bay in Multi-Faith Ceremony

Pattaya – The Sanctuary of Truth (Prasat Satchatham) held a large-scale marine life release ceremony this week, sending 890,000 juvenile blue swimming crabs and sea shrimp into the Gulf of Thailand as part of ongoing efforts to restore coastal ecosystems.

The event took place at the sanctuary’s private pier and was led by Mr Pijarn and Mrs Warakorn Viriyapan, the directors of the Sanctuary of Truth Museum. Representatives from government agencies, private companies, local residents, and volunteers joined together in a warm and well-coordinated atmosphere.

This marked the first marine restocking activity of fiscal year 2025 organised by the iconic wooden temple complex.

The release formed part of the annual “Five Religions Ceremonies” held to pay homage and offer merit to His Royal Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (Rama IX) and Her Royal Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, in grateful remembrance of Their Majesties’ lifelong dedication to marine and environmental conservation.

Participants performed the rites with deep reverence and devotion, reflecting the profound gratitude felt across the nation for the late King and Queen Mother’s immeasurable benevolence.

The Sanctuary of Truth has pledged to continue regular restocking initiatives throughout the year to help replenish Pattaya Bay’s marine resources and support sustainable fisheries for local communities.
