Banglamung, December 10th, 2025 – The front courtyard of Banglamung District Office was filled with emotion yesterday morning as Mr. Patcharaphat Sritanyanon, affectionately known as “District Chief Om,” bid an emotional goodbye to the district he has led for nearly 11 months.
In a simple but touching ceremony, the outgoing District Chief laid garlands and paid respects at the statue of HRM King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) before preparing to assume his new role as Rector of the College of Governance starting today, December 11th, 2025.

He also paid final respects to the district’s sacred spirits, asking for blessings for a safe and smooth journey ahead. The ceremony was attended by senior district officer Mr. Wanchat Wanphrom, civil servants, staff, and many local residents who came to see him off with heavy hearts.
Speaking to those gathered, District Chief Om reflected on his civil-service journey. His first posting as a district chief was at Don Phut in Saraburi Province on January 13th, 2023. Exactly one year later, on January 13th, 2024, he was transferred to Banglamung – a tenure of 10 months and 27 days that he described as being “filled with wholehearted dedication.”

“I feel a deep sense of loss,” he admitted. “The new position means stepping away from the role of district chief, which I love dearly. But I still hope that one day we will work together again in a new capacity.”
He revealed that he has already moved his official house registration to Banglamung, adding with a smile: “One thing I can promise is that ‘Om will never change.’ I still want to work for the public – that has been my dream since the very first day I entered government service.”

A Legacy of Tangible Achievements
During his time in office, District Chief Om leaves behind a long list of concrete accomplishments.
At Don Phut he led the district to win two prestigious national awards: the “Lert Rat (Exemplary Public Service) Award and the “Convenient Government Agency” award.

In Banglamung he launched or completed more than 19 major projects and over 30 smaller initiatives, including:
– Renovation of the second-floor meeting hall at the district office
– Expanded zoning for entertainment venues
– Registration of almost 200 accommodation venues on Koh Larn
– Regulation of nearly 300 pool villas
– Reorganisation of water-sport activities
– Regulation of motorcycle taxi and rental-car services
– Establishment of the special operations unit “Shark BSOT”
– Upgrading of the Volunteer Defense Corps company
– Resolution of long-standing community problems that previous administrations had been unable to solve
One flagship project close to completion is the “Blue Jacket” uniform initiative for the district’s 5,000-plus registered motorcycle-taxi riders. The Chonburi Governor has already signed the official announcement, 80 % of rider data has been entered, and the formal jacket handover ceremony will take place soon. A second registration round will follow to ensure every eligible rider is included.

Even though I’m leaving, my heart is still here
As the ceremony ended and colleagues lined up for final photographs and embraces, District Chief Om repeated his parting words:
“Even though I have to leave the role, my heart will always remain here with the people of Banglamung.”
Staff and residents responded with prolonged applause and many tears, marking the end of a chapter many described as “a beautiful new step” for a district chief who became much more than an administrator – he became family.
