Huay Yai, Chonburi – December 8th 2025
A 55-year-old man suffered severe leg injuries in the early hours of Monday morning when his motorcycle veered off the road and slammed into a corrugated metal fence, leaving his left leg impaled and trapped in the wreckage.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Municipal Road 1 Near Soi 36.
Police from Huay Yai Police Station received the emergency call and immediately coordinated with Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation volunteers from Pattaya and medical staff from Wat Yansangwararam Hospital.

At the scene, rescuers found a grey Yamaha Filano motorcycle, embedded in a collapsed section of sheet-metal fencing. The rider, identified as Mr. Ubon Duangchumphon, aged 55, remained pinned to the bike with his left leg deeply lacerated and trapped by a jagged piece of metal.
Due to the complexity of the entrapment, rescue teams were forced to deploy hydraulic cutting and spreading tools (the “Jaws of Life”) to carefully free the victim. The delicate operation took considerable time before Mr. Ubon could finally be extricated. He was given immediate first aid at the scene and rushed to hospital in serious condition.

An eyewitness, Mr. Butsadee Arjhan, 42, who was parked nearby with his sidecar motorcycle, told officers he heard the sound of a motorcycle losing control, apparently while trying to avoid a dog, before it crashed violently into the fence. He ran to the scene and saw the rider’s leg pierced by the metal sheet. Unable to free him manually, he immediately called for rescue services.
Police are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the accident and will examine factors including road conditions, speed, and the possible presence of stray animals.
