A foreign man, believed to be in his mid-20s, was seriously injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident early Friday morning after losing control on a sharp curve and slamming into an electricity pole.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 a.m. on the Huay Yai Phrom–Na Phrao Road near the entrance of Soi Lung Term.
CCTV footage captured the rider travelling at high speed before reaching the curve. The motorcycle rider suddenly wobbled, overturned, and slid several metres along the road before colliding with a roadside power pole in a cloud of dust.
Rescue teams from Sawang Prateep Sri Racha Foundation, emergency medical staff from Phyathai Sri Racha Hospital, and officers from Sri Racha Police Station rushed to the scene.
Rescuers found a heavily damaged white-and-black GPX Diamond motorcycle next to the pole. The rider, an unconscious male estimated to be 25–30 years old, suffered severe facial and head lacerations with heavy bleeding, as well as multiple abrasions across his body. No identification documents were found, and rescue workers confirmed the injured man is a foreign national of unknown nationality.
Eyewitnesses told authorities the rider was travelling alone and that no other vehicles were involved. One witness reported hearing the motorcycle approaching at high speed before hearing a loud crash.
A village security guard on duty at the time told The Pattaya News: “I was writing a report in the guard booth when I heard a motorcycle roaring toward us, engine screaming. Moments later there was a huge bang. I ran out and saw villagers already gathering. The rider was lying motionless on the road. We tried calling out to him and shaking him gently, but he didn’t respond, only his feet twitched slightly. We didn’t dare move him further in case we made the injuries worse. He was clearly going very fast, and this curve is dangerous.”
Rescue workers provided first aid at the scene before urgently transferring the critically injured man to hospital for further treatment.
Police photographed the scene, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed CCTV footage. Officers confirmed the case will proceed under normal legal procedures for a single-vehicle accident.
Authorities once again urged motorcyclists to ride within speed limits and exercise extra caution on curved roads, especially during early morning hours when visibility may be reduced.
