Pattaya Honours Exemplary Fathers of the Land for 2025 in National Father’s Day Tribute

Pattaya, December 2025 – Pattaya City Hall’s Thap Phraya Conference Room was the venue for the annual “Exemplary Father of the Land” (Khun Pho Khon Dee Sri Phaen Din) awards ceremony for 2025, held to celebrate National Father’s Day and honour outstanding fathers who serve as role models for society.

Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet presided over the event, joined by distinguished guests including former Culture Minister Sonthaya Kunplome and his wife Sukumol Kunplome, as well as Pol. Col. Eknarin Sathongyoo, Chief of Pattaya Police Station, among other dignitaries.

Organised by the Pattaya Cultural Council together with Pattaya City and the Chonburi Provincial Culture Office, the ceremony paid tribute to His Royal Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the late King Rama IX, revered as the Father of the Nation and a supreme example of fatherhood for Thai people and the world.

A key highlight of Thailand’s National Father’s Day celebrations is the selection and recognition of “Exemplary Fathers of the Land.” This is to publicly honour fathers who embody virtue, highlight the vital role of fathers in families and society, encourage children to express gratitude, and inspire future generations by showcasing positive role models.

This year, 23 outstanding fathers from Pattaya and Chonburi province were selected across five categories:

– Fathers who have made exceptional contributions to the Pattaya Cultural Council
– Self-sacrificing fathers
– Fathers who have rendered outstanding service to society
– Fathers who demonstrate perseverance, diligence, and hard work
– Fathers who have made significant contributions to society and the nation

The recipients were nominated by government agencies, private organisations, and community groups throughout the Pattaya and greater Chonburi area.

The ceremony displays the enduring importance of fatherhood and family values in Thai society while reinforcing Pattaya’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural traditions.
