Pattaya, Chonburi – December 5th, 2025
Residents of Banglamung District gathered in large numbers this morning to take part in a solemn alms-giving ceremony held in commemoration of the birthday anniversary of His Royal Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (King Rama IX), which also marks Thailand’s National Day and National Father’s Day.
The ceremony took place at the multi-purpose hall of Muang Pattaya 2 School and was presided over by Mr. Phatcharaphat Srithanyanon, Banglamung District Chief. He was joined by heads of government agencies, police officers, kamnan (sub-district heads), village headmen, local administrative organisations, state enterprises, private-sector representatives, and hundreds of local citizens.

Ten monks were invited to chant sacred verses, while a total of 89 monks and novices received offerings of rice and dried food from the faithful. The large turnout reflected the deep loyalty and gratitude Thais continue to feel toward the late monarch.
The annual event serves as an occasion for Thai people of all walks of life to pay tribute to the boundless royal benevolence of His Royal Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, who reigned for 70 years with unwavering dedication to his pledge to rule righteously for the happiness and well-being of all his subjects.

Throughout his reign, the beloved king tirelessly carried out thousands of royal initiatives with extraordinary diligence, aimed at improving the quality of life of the Thai people, especially the poor and underprivileged. He devised innovative solutions to alleviate hardship and pioneered the “Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy” – widely known as the “King’s Philosophy” – to enable citizens to achieve self-reliance and make the most sustainable use of the land.
More than 4,000 royal projects initiated under His Majesty’s vision have earned both domestic and international acclaim for their lasting value and profound benefit to the Thai people, while also inspiring development approaches in numerous countries around the world.

Today’s ceremony in Banglamung once again demonstrated the enduring reverence Thais hold for their late king, whose legacy of compassion, wisdom, and selfless service continues to guide the nation.
