Pattaya Welcomes Thammasat University Partnership to Drive City Forward as a Health and Wellness Hub

Pattaya, December 3rd 2025 – Pattaya City has officially opened its doors to a strategic partnership with Thammasat University set at transforming the resort city into a leading center for health services and higher education knowledge production.

On December 2nd, 2025, Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet chaired a high-level meeting at Pattaya City Hall (Meeting Room 131) to explore joint training programs and long-term cooperation with Thammasat University. The meeting was attended by Dr. Siwat Boonkerd, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Pattaya City, senior municipal officials, and representatives from related agencies.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natdanai Phannujerernwong, Assistant Rector for Pattaya Campus Administration at Thammasat University, led the university delegation in presenting proposed training models and cooperation frameworks between Pattaya City, Thammasat University, and local communities. The focus is on building expertise in public health, public service delivery, and enhancing the capacity of local personnel.

Thammasat University has pledged full support for Pattaya’s vision to become a regional health-service hub and a center for advanced academic knowledge. This includes creative management curricula and community-oriented research initiatives.

A key concrete outcome of the partnership is the launch of the training program “Moving Forward to the Next Normal 2026,” which will run throughout 2026 at ECO Hotel By Thammasat on the university’s Pattaya campus. The program is designed to equip municipal staff and local business owners with skills needed to thrive in the post-pandemic era.

Mayor Poramese Ngampichet stated that public health remains Pattaya’s top priority. “We are in the process of establishing community-based primary public health centers to ensure comprehensive coverage for all residents,” he said. The mayor formally invited Thammasat University to become a core partner in the city’s future health-policy network, with the shared goal of sustainably improving the quality of life for Pattaya’s citizens.

The new alliance marks a large step in repositioning Pattaya not only as a world-class tourism destination but also as a forward-thinking city in health innovation and lifelong learning.
