Pattaya Finalizes Subdued, Respectful PATTAYA COUNTDOWN 2026 Event in Tone of National Mourning

Pattaya, December 2025 – Pattaya City has approved the overall concept for this year’s New Year celebration, “PATTAYA COUNTDOWN 2026,” with a significantly toned-down and gentle theme to align with the nationwide period of mourning for Her Royal Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.

The decision was reached during a special meeting chaired by Mayor Poramet Ngampichet on December 1st 2025 at Meeting Room 401, Pattaya City Hall. Attendees included Deputy Mayors Manoch Nongyai and Damrongkiat Pinijkarn, the Mayor’s assistants, City Council President, council members, department heads, and representatives from MONO 29, the event’s main organizer.

Recognizing the solemn national atmosphere, MONO 29 presented a completely revised format under the theme “Sea of Serenity” (ทะเลแห่งความสงบ), designed to convey calmness, simplicity, and elegance while paying tribute to Her Royal Majesty’s infinite royal grace.

Key elements of the adjusted program include:
– Soft, respectful cultural performances
– Songs of remembrance
– A special “Music of Light Waves” show symbolizing love, reverence, and gentle illumination rather than fireworks or high-energy spectacles

The meeting thoroughly reviewed stage design, lighting, sound levels, and all performances to ensure complete appropriateness and uniformity in the subdued tone. Top artists like Bodyslam, Bowkylion, F Hero, Taitosmith, UrboyTJ, Three Man Down, and more will still perform their hits and hold concerts, however, the cultural and respectful events will also take place, similar to the recent fireworks festival.

Mayor Poramese added that while the celebration will proceed, it will be markedly quieter and more reflective than in previous years, out of deep respect for the royal mourning period.

Safety remains a top priority. City officials directed organizers to:
– Increase entrance lanes and metal-detector checkpoints
– Enhance crowd-management measures
– Coordinate closely with police, marine units, medical teams, and all relevant agencies to guarantee the safety of attendees throughout the three-day event

“Pattaya will welcome the new year with dignity, serenity, and the highest standards of safety,” Mayor Poramese stated. “This Countdown will be a heartfelt moment of unity and remembrance rather than revelry.”

Final preparations are now underway, with the event scheduled for 29–31 December 2025 at Pattaya Beach.
