Chonburi – Somdech Phra Borommarajadevi Hospital in Sriracha held an awareness campaign for World AIDS Day on the 2nd-floor lobby of the Sri Sawarindira Memorial Building this weekend.
Dr. Samyot Lohjindapong, Deputy Director of the hospital, presided over the opening ceremony. The event marked World AIDS Day, observed globally every December First to raise awareness, show compassion for people living with HIV/AIDS, and expand knowledge to help curb the spread of the disease.

This year’s international theme is “Overcome the Crisis, Transform AIDS Response” (ก้าวข้ามวิกฤต พลิกโฉมงานเอดส์). The campaign aims to highlight the dangers of HIV transmission, strengthen prevention measures at all levels of society, promote continuous anti-stigma activities, encourage acceptance and care for those affected, and broaden public education about the disease.

Activities included:
– A lucky-star (สอยดาว) fundraising draw to provide 30 educational scholarships for children from low-income families receiving treatment at the hospital’s Family Clinic.
– An educational talk on “Food and Antiretroviral Drugs: Everyday Issues Not to Overlook” led by doctors, nurses, and multidisciplinary health professionals.
– Informative exhibitions and interactive booths run by the hospital’s multidisciplinary teams.

The event shows the hospital’s ongoing commitment to HIV prevention, treatment, and support for affected individuals and families in the community.
