Pattaya Gears Up for High Season with Major Tourist Safety Meeting

PATTAYA, November 25th 2025 – A high-level meeting to strengthen tourist safety measures ahead of the peak high season was held yesterday at the Siam Bayshore Resort Hotel in Pattaya.

The meeting was chaired by Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksirot Phuek-am, Commander of the Tourist Police Division (TPD), starting at 15:36. Senior officers from the Tourist Police Bureau, Chonburi Immigration, Banglamung District Administration, Marine Department, Pattaya City administration, and representatives from the private tourism sector attended the session.

Key participants included:
– Pol. Maj. Gen. Krit Warit, Deputy Commander, Tourist Police Division
– Pol. Maj. Gen. Danu Klamsum, Commander, Tourist Police Region 1
– Pol. Maj. Gen. Onlar Eiamprapha, Commander, Tourist Police Region 2
– Bang Lamung District Chief Mr. Patcharapat Sritanyanon
– Pattaya City Police Chief Pol. Col. Anek Sratongyu
– Representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Pattaya Office), Walking Street community, Pattaya Boat Operators Association, and Pattaya Business and Tourism Association

The agenda focused on integrated security operations between the Tourist Police, local authorities, marine agencies, and private business owners to ensure maximum safety for tourists during the upcoming high season.

The Marine Department presented the “Bali Hai Port Control Enhancement Project”, which includes:
– Installation of a communication system that bridges analog and digital radio signals, extending reliable coverage to over 10 kilometres.
– A real-time GPS vessel tracking system at the pier’s control centre, displaying the exact positions of all boats in Pattaya Bay. The system will guide safe navigation routes and manage vessel entry/exit procedures more systematically.

Stricter measures for entertainment venues

Banglamung District Administration announced tougher supervision of nightlife establishments. Venues found with more than 20% of tested patrons or staff positive for illegal substances will face an immediate 7-day closure order. The policy is to reduce drug-related crime and improve Pattaya’s image as a safe tourist destination.

Business representatives also proposed involving long-term foreign residents in safety campaigns and using nationality-specific social media platforms and popular apps to deliver clear, accessible safety information directly to target tourist groups.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksirot added that all agencies will work under a unified command structure throughout the high season to provide rapid response and visible security presence in tourist areas.

With tourist arrivals expected to surge in the coming weeks, authorities say the enhanced coordination and new technological measures will help maintain Pattaya’s reputation as one of Thailand’s safest and most welcoming beach destinations.
