Royal Thai Army Launches Full Scale Flood Relief Operations in Hat Yai

The 4th Army Area has launched full-scale flood-relief operations in Hat Yai district, Songkhla province, as rising water levels continue to threaten multiple neighborhoods. On November 24th, units operating from the Forward Command Center at Sena Narong Camp coordinated with the Kan Chom Phalang Foundation and other rescue teams to enter the most affected zones.

Operations began in Zone 8 and the Chok Saman area, two of the hardest-hit locations where floodwaters have been rising rapidly. Access routes have been cut off by strong currents, prompting officials to move quickly to reach stranded households and assess evacuation needs across the affected zone.

Rescue personnel deployed six jet skis and one motorboat to navigate submerged streets and reach residents unable to leave their homes. Evacuation efforts are being accelerated to move at-risk families to safety as conditions continue to deteriorate. Military teams were also dispatched to support Hat Yai Hospital after a power outage disrupted the facility’s electrical system and affected patient care.

Authorities are urging residents in high-risk areas to leave immediately, comply with official warnings, and stay prepared for sudden changes in water levels. Teams on the ground remain active throughout the district as conditions continue to evolve.

Those needing assistance may contact the 4th Army Area Forward Disaster Relief Center at 098-223-3364, 061-586-5574, 074-586685, and 074-234145 to 8.
