Pattaya, November 25th, 2025 – A heavily intoxicated construction worker suffered deep gashes and lost a large amount of blood in the early hours of Monday after stumbling into a sharp corrugated metal fence while walking back to his camp from a karaoke bar.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation in Pattaya received a call that a man was lying injured and bleeding profusely outside a karaoke venue in Soi Phatthana 4.
Rescue volunteers arrived to find Mr. Rat Pholphan, 43, covered in blood with multiple deep lacerations across his body. He was in a severe state of intoxication and barely able to speak. Staff from the karaoke bar and passers-by had already begun basic first aid before rescuers took over and rushed him to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment.
Mr. Rat told rescuers he had been drinking heavily inside the karaoke bar and left to walk back to his nearby workers’ camp. In his drunken state he staggered and collided with a corrugated zinc sheet used as temporary fencing, slicing himself badly. He managed to stagger back to the karaoke entrance where he collapsed and called for help.
Friends from the construction camp confirmed that Mr. Rat is a regular heavy drinker and often loses control when intoxicated, but stressed that no one had assaulted him. Karaoke staff said he had left the premises only a short time earlier in good spirits after amicably settling his bill, then suddenly returned drenched in blood, explaining he had walked into the metal sheet.
Rescue workers described the wounds as serious but not life-threatening. Mr. Rat is now recovering in the local hospital. Police were informed but no charges are expected as the incident was purely accidental.
