No Pain, It Is Safe: My Visit to Miradent as an Expat in Pattaya

The following is a testimonial from a recent expat customer to Miradent Clinic Pattaya. Their opinions and statements are their own.

I’ll be honest: I’ve always been a little afraid of the dentist. Maybe it’s the sound of the tools, maybe it’s childhood memories, whatever it is, I usually walk into any dental clinic with my shoulders somewhere up near my ears. But last weekend, something changed. I visited Miradent, located on Pattaya Thai in central Pattaya, and my experience completely shifted how I think about going to the dentist.

I had an appointment for 11:00 AM, and when I walked in, the waiting room was already full of what looked like anxious patients. I prepared myself for a long wait. Instead, I was called in five minutes before my scheduled time. That alone impressed me.

Miradent runs like a well-organized, friendly, and genuinely welcoming operation. There are many staff members, all attentive, calm, and ready to help. The atmosphere feels comfortable—nothing like the cold, clinical environment many of us have grown used to.

The chief oral surgeon, Dr Jan tatcha Chaitrakulong. who is also part owner, greeted me warmly and explained exactly what would be happening during my appointment. She did a quick but thorough check around my mouth, pointed out the areas that needed work, and laid out the order in which everything should be done. It all made perfect sense, and I never felt rushed or confused. Her English was excellent—as was the English of every staff member I interacted with.

When she stepped out, another clinician began the actual treatment. This is usually where my nerves kick in, but surprisingly, it was a completely painless experience. She was gentle, patient, and frequently checked to see whether I needed a break. Anyone who’s had their mouth open for a long stretch knows how tiring that can be, and I appreciated her attentiveness more than I expected.

They performed a deep clean and polish, and they even pointed out some issues I hadn’t known about. The entire session took around 40 minutes, and when I stepped out, I was handed a bill that was, truthfully, very reasonable for the quality of care I’d just received.

Before I left, I had a chat with one of the owners, who shared a concern that stuck with me. She spoke about the trend of fashion braces, a kind of accessory that has become popular among younger girls who see them as stylish rather than medical tools. She explained how dangerous this trend can be: these non-professional braces can shift teeth incorrectly, weaken enamel, and cause long-term dental damage. Braces should only ever be used under the supervision of a qualified orthodontist. Hearing the worry in her voice made me realize how important responsible dental care really is.

All in all, my visit to Miradent was eye-opening. There was no pain, I felt completely safe, and I actually walked away looking forward to my next appointment, something I never thought I’d say.

If you’re an expat or visitor in Pattaya and you’ve been putting off a dental check-up out of fear or uncertainty, take it from me: don’t be afraid. Miradent is worth the visit. I’ll definitely be returning.
