Pattaya City Mayor Poramese Ngampichet issued an official public notice confirming that, effective November 22nd, 2025, the city has entered the mandatory 180-day restricted period ahead of the expiration of the current administrative term, as required by the Local Election Act B.E. 2562 (2019) and its amendments.
During this period, the following activities are strictly prohibited:
– Approval or announcement of any new projects or budget allocations that could be seen as inducements to voters.
– Use of state resources, vehicles, personnel, or facilities for personal or political benefit.
– Any public communication by the Mayor or city officials that could be interpreted as election campaigning.
– Offering, promising, or providing money, gifts, support, assistance, or any other direct or indirect benefits to individuals, groups, or communities with the intent of influencing votes.
Mayor Poramese stated that regular administrative duties will continue as normal, but all actions will be conducted with the highest level of transparency and strict adherence to the law.
To ensure uninterrupted public service, the Mayor has temporarily suspended receiving complaints via his personal social media accounts. Residents are instead requested to use official Pattaya City channels:

“I issue this notice so that all citizens are fully informed and to guarantee that every action during this period complies strictly with the law,” Mayor Poramese stated in the announcement signed tonight.
The 180-day restriction is standard procedure across Thailand in the lead-up to local elections and is designed to prevent incumbent officials from using public office or resources for electoral advantage. Pattaya’s next mayoral and council elections are expected around Songkran 2026.
