PATTAYA, Thailand – A 27-year-old Russian tourist was seriously injured in the early hours of Thursday, November 20th, 2025, after being struck on the head with what appeared to be a glass bottle on the Walking Street nightlife strip in South Pattaya.
The assault occurred around 03:50 a.m. near the Ice Bar. Pattaya Special Affairs officers were the first to respond after the bleeding victim, shirtless and wearing only shorts, ran to them pleading for help.

Rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation provided first aid at the scene. The tourist had suffered a deep laceration to the scalp with heavy bleeding and visible bruising to the face. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

According to the Special Affairs team, the victim, whose name was withheld due to fears for his safety, claimed he was attacked without provocation by a group of muscular Thai men who smashed a bottle over his head before he managed to flee and seek assistance.
Pattaya City Police are now reviewing CCTV footage from the area and collecting additional evidence in an effort to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. An investigation is ongoing, and charges are expected once the suspects are located.

Violent incidents involving foreign tourists, though relatively uncommon, continue to raise occasional concern about safety in Pattaya’s entertainment districts, particularly in the early morning hours when alcohol consumption is high.
