Pattaya, Thailand – November 11th, 2025– A joint sting operation by Pattaya police, Banglamung district officials, and Chonburi Immigration has dismantled what they called an online sex-toy and aphrodisiac operation whose brazen sticker campaign plastered the city and outraged residents as we previously reported here.
The crackdown, say police, followed weeks of public complaints about explicit stickers promoting the website PATTAYA POPPERS were found slapped on power poles, walls, and public fixtures across the resort city. The ads peddled sex toys, poppers (inhalant stimulants), performance pills, condoms, drug paraphernalia, and even narcotics, badly denting Pattaya’s tourism reputation.
At 10:36 p.m. on Monday, November 11th, a task force led by Pol. Lt. Col. Arut Saphanont (Deputy Chief of Investigation, Pattaya City Police), executed a controlled buy of two bottles of poppers at 750 baht each. Once the undercover officer received the goods, the team swooped in.
The suspects led authorities to a rented house in Soi Sukhumvit 42/2, where a search uncovered a stash of:
– 110 sex toys (Illegal in Thailand)
– 180 bottles of poppers (alkyl nitrite inhalants)
– 36 packs of erectile-enhancement tablets
– 35 pieces of drug paraphernalia
– 11.2 grams of illicit drugs
Arrested were:
– Sunthorn, 40, Thai national
– Mr. Gary, British national
Both admitted to running PATTAYA POPPERS for about a year, with the sticker campaign launched only six months ago to counter slumping sales amid Thailand’s economic slowdown. They sourced inventory from overseas mega-sites and targeted mostly foreign customers in Pattaya.
The pair explained that poppers—technically leather cleaners—produce a head rush and euphoria when inhaled; some users experience heightened arousal, driving demand as a “sex drug.”
Authorities seized all evidence and escorted the suspects to Pattaya City Police Station. Charges are being prepared for illegal sale of unregistered medical devices, controlled substances, and drug offenses. The investigation continues as of press time.
