Pattaya, Thailand – A 25-year-old woman tragically died after stabbing herself in the chest following an argument with her boyfriend over a refused cheek kiss, police said.
The incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. on November 10th, 2025, inside a five-story apartment building in Soi Pho Sam.
Police Lieutenant Wongthorn Makkhanan, deputy investigator at Banglamung Police Station, received a report of a stabbing and rushed to the scene along with rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation.
In the bathroom of Room 104 on the ground floor, rescuers found the victim, identified only as “New,” 25, unconscious in a pool of blood. She had a single stab wound to the center of her chest. Despite CPR efforts, she later succumbed to her injuries.

A 20-centimeter Japanese-style fish filleting knife was found near the body and seized as evidence.
The victim’s boyfriend, identified only as “Ek” (pseudonym), 35, was present and visibly distraught. The couple had been dating for six to seven months and worked together at an entertainment venue on North Pattaya Third Road.
Ek told police that around midnight, his girlfriend messaged him at work asking him to come for a quick kiss on the cheek. He was working, busy, and refused, teasing her about her sexy outfit. This led to an argument via chat, which he believes upset her.
After the venue closed at 4:50 a.m., she returned to the apartment alone. Ek arrived at 5:10 a.m. but found the door locked. He knocked, called her nearly 20 times, and waited over an hour with no response.

Suspecting something was wrong, he hired a locksmith who opened the door at 6:07 a.m. Ek immediately entered the bathroom and discovered her bleeding with the knife beside her. He called police and rescue services.
CCTV footage confirmed his account: the victim returned at 4:52 a.m., Ek arrived at 5:09 a.m., knocked repeatedly, and the locksmith gained entry at 6:07 a.m. Rescue teams arrived 20 minutes later.
Ek also revealed that his girlfriend had a history of depression and was receiving treatment.
Investigators from Banglamung Police Station, along with forensic officers from Police Forensic Science Division 2, collected evidence at the scene. The boyfriend was taken in for further questioning.
The body has been sent to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for a detailed autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death.
