Huay Yai, Chonburi – November 6th, 2025 – Huay Yai Subdistrict Municipality partnered with public health expert Buppha Songskulchai to conduct a mandatory food safety and hygiene workshop for vendors at Haad Dong City Fresh Market, speaking to proper attire, handling practices, and compliance with national sanitation standards.
The session, held at 1:00 p.m., targeted all food handlers in the Banglamung district market. Attendees learned municipal regulations requiring clean uniforms, aprons, hairnets, and face masks, while strictly prohibiting direct hand contact with ready-to-eat foods.
“Some vendors still lack formal training in sanitary food handling,” said Ms. Buppha, a certified sanitarian. “Under the 2018 Ministry of Public Health decree, every person who prepares, serves, sells, or cleans in food service must complete this course—nationwide.” She noted that Huay Yai Municipality previously held one session, but private sector partners requested this follow-up to ensure full compliance.
The training benefits vendors directly by equipping them to maintain product quality, prevent contamination complaints, and avoid foodborne illness reports. “Today’s turnout was excellent,” Ms. Buppha added. “Trained vendors will now apply these standards daily.”

Post-training, municipal officers will conduct random inspections and provide guidance to elevate Haad Dong City Market toward a five-star hygiene rating. Non-compliant stalls risk corrective orders under the national public health framework.
