Sri Racha, Thailand – November 5th, 2025 – Officials from the Sri Racha Municipality and Sri Racha District Office conducted a joint inspection of the iconic Purple Bridge on Tuesday to ensure its readiness and safety for the Loy Krathong festival last night.
Led by Sri Racha Mayor Chatchai Timkrachang, the team included the municipal clerk, the district clerk, disaster prevention and mitigation officers, municipal enforcement personnel, and other relevant agencies. The inspection focused on the floating walkway, locally known as the Purple Bridge, which served as a key access point for residents and tourists participating in the traditional float-releasing celebrations.

To manage crowd flow efficiently, the bridge was divided into separate lanes on both sides: one designated for entry and one for exit. This setup was to facilitate smooth and orderly movement for visitors heading down to release their krathong floats into the sea.
Additional floating docks were installed alongside the bridge to make it easier for participants to access the water. Municipal and district officials were on-site to provide assistance and ensure public safety throughout the event.

In an effort to minimize environmental impact, barriers were set up to contain the krathong floats and prevent them from drifting into the open sea. This measure will simplify collection after the festival, allowing the floats to be retrieved and properly decomposed.
The preparations show the local authorities’ commitment to hosting a safe, convenient, and eco-friendly Loy Krathong celebration, drawing crowds to Sri Racha’s coastal waters for one of Thailand’s most beloved traditions.
