Sriracha, Chonburi – November 2nd, 2025– A devastating accident claimed the life of a 17-year-old student on Saturday evening after he lost control of his modified motorcycle while speeding at over 100 km/h, collided with another bike, and slid nearly 30 meters into a utility pole. Heart-wrenching CCTV footage later showed the teen’s parents arriving at the scene, collapsing in grief as they embraced their son’s lifeless body.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the Sriracha-Nong Yai Bu Road in front of the “Kin Arai Dee” restaurant. The Sriracha Police Station and Sawang Prateep Sriracha Rescue Foundation were alerted to a serious motorcycle collision with one critically injured rider.

At the scene, police found a heavily damaged white Honda Giorno motorcycle, overturned on the roadside and severely damaged. Nearby, the rider—identified by his parents as 17-year-old Mr. Thrit Muangbang, a junior high school student at a well-known private school in Sriracha—was found deceased.
The victim’s parents rushed to the scene shortly after being notified. Upon seeing their son’s body covered with a sheet, they tearfully embraced him. The mother tearfully told rescue workers and reporters, “I warned him not to ride so fast—he never listened.” Rescue volunteers gently escorted the grieving couple away to console them.
Eyewitness Mr. Krisada Ranmichai described the crash: “A black motorcycle was riding slowly ahead. The victim’s bike came flying in at high speed, clipped the black one, and both went down. The white bike slid far, smashing into a pole and scattering debris everywhere. The black bike’s rider fell but seemed unhurt, got up, checked his bike under the light of a nearby sukiyaki restaurant, and then rode off.” Mr. Krisada estimated the victim’s speed at no less than 120 km/h.

Another witness, Mr. Pricha Ruadtong, who was eating at a nearby larb restaurant, said: “I heard a loud engine roaring, then the screech of skidding and a massive crash. By the time I looked, the bike was already overturned. The motorcycle was clearly modified for racing and traveling at over 100 km/h. I didn’t see the initial collision.”
Police recorded the scene and arranged for rescue workers to transport the body to Laem Chabang Hospital for a preliminary autopsy. Investigators are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to locate and interview the rider of the black motorcycle and to determine why despite it seeming that he did not cause the crash, he left the scene of an accident.
