Pattaya, Thailand – November 2nd, 2025 – A toddler was safely rescued after becoming accidentally locked inside a parked sedan in Pattaya on Saturday evening, leading to a quick response from local rescue volunteers.
The incident happened at approximately 6:20 p.m. when the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received an urgent report of a child trapped in a vehicle. The location was Soi Kraek on Moo 4. Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, volunteers encountered a large crowd of onlookers gathered around a gold Mazda sedan which was parked with the engine off along the roadside. Inside, 2-year-old boy Jeo was crying in distress. Using specialized tools, the rescue team pried open the car door, successfully extracting the child unharmed after about 20 minutes.

The boy’s father, 48-year-old Worathep Wongbut, explained to authorities that he had been driving with his son to buy soybean milk. He had parked the car briefly on the side of the road, leaving Jeo inside for just a moment. Unintentionally, the toddler leaned against the door lock button, causing the doors to automatically secure. Mr. Worathep attempted to open the vehicle himself but failed, leading him to call for professional help.
Rescue officials issued a stern warning to parents and guardians, stating that young children should never be left unattended in vehicles. Unexpected incidents, such as oxygen deprivation or extreme heat buildup inside a locked car, can pose life-threatening risks.
