Sriracha, Chonburi – October 29th, 2025– The first day of the Thai government’s “Khon La Khrueng Plus”, or half half in English, co-payment subsidy program saw bustling activity at local stores in Sriracha District, with large crowds participating and merchants reporting effective economic stimulation. While some elderly users forgot the payment steps, shop staff provided prompt assistance, ensuring smooth transactions.
At Jamrus Super Store in Moo 8 in the Surasak Subdistrict, customers began streaming in from morning opening hours to purchase daily essentials such as rice, dried foods, household items, soap, toothpaste, and shower cream. Many participants had previously used similar schemes and were familiar with the process, though a portion—particularly seniors—required guidance. Store owner Kornpassorn Sutthiwichaiporn confirmed that employees were trained in advance to help customers navigate the system, resolving minor issues efficiently.

Both shoppers and retailers expressed strong satisfaction with the initiative, calling it an effective economic booster and urging its continuation.
Under the program, eligible citizens can spend up to 400 baht per day, with the government subsidizing half (up to 200 baht). First-time spending rights must be exercised by 11:00 p.m. on November 11th, 2025, to avoid forfeiture. The scheme runs until 11:00 p.m. on December 31st, 2025.

Ms. Nonglak Yaemphalai, 51, a grocery company employee, shared: “This is a great program—I hope it continues. Spending today was convenient; signs clearly showed participating stores. I topped up in advance and used it easily on the first day. The process is straightforward, especially since I used the previous version. Paying 200 baht myself for 400 baht in value feels fair. Today I bought water, rice, soap, and toothpaste. Thank you for this scheme, and please keep it going.”

Store owner Ms. Kornpassorn added: “The atmosphere on day one was very lively with many customers. The program benefits everyone. The only issue was some forgetting the steps, but our trained staff assisted immediately. We’re grateful—it has increased sales, and people have more spending power. We want this often; it definitely stimulates the economy.”
