Thailand Mourns as Late Queen Mothers Royal Coffin is Transferred in Solemn Ceremony

Bangkok, October 26th, 2025 – At 4:28 p.m. today, a solemn procession took place to transfer the royal coffin of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, from Chulalongkorn Hospital to the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.

The procession was led by His Royal Majesty the King and Her Royal Majesty the Queen, who traveled by royal car, accompanied by members of the royal family, following the royal hearse carrying the Queen Mother’s coffin.

Notably, the same royal van used in the 2016 procession for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great was employed to carry Her Majesty’s coffin, symbolizing the continuity of reverence and tradition in this significant moment of national mourning.
