Pattaya, Thailand – October 24th, 2025: Mr. Wuthisak Rermkijakarn, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya, led a joint operation with public health officials to inspect food safety and hygiene at a vegetarian food stall during the annual Vegetarian Festival.
The inspection team included Ms. Duangsuree Phannamporn, a public health officer from the Food Safety Mobile Unit of the Chonburi Provincial Public Health Office, Ms. Pannaphat Lertwattananithikul, a public health practitioner from the Banglamung District Public Health Office, and Mr. Phonphirom Sueadaeng, Director of the Environmental Sanitation Division of Pattaya City’s Public Health Department, along with other consumer protection officials.

The team conducted a thorough inspection at the Jian Siu Vegetarian Kitchen (Poysian Jowsu Shrine) in Naklua, Pattaya. The focus was on ensuring food hygiene, checking for pesticide residues in vegetables and fruits used in vegetarian dishes, and verifying the cleanliness of cooking utensils and food preparation processes. The team also tested for coliform bacteria contamination and examined the hygiene practices of food handlers.
Preliminary results showed that the Jian Siu Vegetarian Kitchen adhered to high hygiene standards. Freshly prepared, hot vegetarian dishes were served, and raw ingredients, such as vegetables, were properly washed in accordance with sanitary guidelines. Stainless steel containers were used for cleaning, further ensuring compliance with health regulations.

The inspections are part of Pattaya City’s commitment to safeguarding public health during the Vegetarian Festival, a time when many residents and tourists opt for plant-based meals. Authorities stressed the importance of maintaining strict hygiene standards to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure a safe dining experience for all.

The main vegetarian Festival area is in Naklua in front of the Sawang Boriboon Foundation across from Lan Pho Park, but restaurants across Pattaya are participating.
