Drug Suspect Crashes into Sri Racha Shop in High Speed Police Chase, Narrowly Misses Transgender Woman

Sriracha, Chonburi – A dramatic police chase ended in chaos when a suspected drug dealer crashed his car into a roadside shop, narrowly missing a transgender woman, in a high-speed escape attempt captured on CCTV. The incident, which occurred at approximately 1:00 PM on October 22nd, 2025, in Nong Kham, left one person injured and revealed a stash of illegal drugs, causing authorities to vow further investigation.

The Sriracha Sawang Prateep Rescue Unit received reports of a car crashing into a residential shop near the Nong Kho intersection in Village 9. Responding officers from the Nong Kham Police Station found a white Toyota Vios embedded in the shop’s fence. The vehicle’s front was heavily damaged, with its windshield shattered, while the shop’s fence, walls, and some goods inside were also wrecked.

CCTV footage reviewed by The Pattaya News reporters captured the heart-stopping moment when the suspect’s car, speeding down the road in a cloud of dust, lost control and smashed into the shop’s concrete fence post. The impact sent debris flying, damaging windows, doors, and items inside the store. Standing nearby was Chanisa Choonhasri, a transgender woman and neighbor, who narrowly escaped injury by leaping out of the way as the car barreled toward the shop. Authorities noted that the fence post likely prevented a worse outcome, as the car could have struck people inside without it.

The driver, identified as Kamthorn Boonthongjaeng, 41, sustained serious injuries, including a large head wound and possible ankle fractures from climbing a wall during his escape attempt. After crashing, Kamthorn reportedly climbed through the shattered windshield and fled into a nearby dead-end alley. Nong Kham Police investigation officers, who had been pursuing him, apprehended him near a residential wall. A search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of methamphetamine pills (yabba) and crystal methamphetamine (ice).

According to police, Kamthorn was a known drug trafficking suspect. Officers had arranged a sting operation, luring him to a meeting point along Nong Kho Road to purchase drugs. Realizing he was being targeted, Kamthorn fled in his car, leading to the high-speed chase. Police followed at a distance until he crashed into the shop.

Kamthorn was rushed to Somdej Phra Boromrajthevi Hospital in Sriracha for treatment, with officers stationed to guard him. Authorities are now investigating to identify additional individuals involved in the drug operation.
