Thai Social Development Minister Visits Sriracha to Promote Inclusive Opportunities

Sriracha, Chonburi – On October 24th, 2025, at 10:00 AM, Thailand’s Minister of Social Development and Human Security, Mr. Akkhara Promphao, led a delegation to Chonburi Province to advance the “MSDHS Near You” policy. This drives proactive measures to support vulnerable groups and Thai families, ensuring equitable and comprehensive care under the vision of a “Society of Opportunity” that leaves no one behind.

The visit took place at the Wat Rangsi Sutthawat (Wat Rai Kluay) low-cost housing project in Sriracha District. Mr. Phongthasit Pichanant, Deputy Governor of Chonburi, welcomed the minister and provided an overview of the province’s social welfare efforts. With a population of over 1.6 million and a key role in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), Chonburi is a vital economic hub.

During the visit, Minister Akkhara participated in community activities to enhance quality of life. These included distributing educational materials to private childcare centers, providing 10 housing units to families in need, and supplying wheelchairs and white canes to 10 individuals with disabilities. Supply kits were also handed out to support vulnerable women, and the minister visited households with elderly residents, people with disabilities, and single mothers to offer encouragement.

The delegation toured booths showcasing vocational programs, youth council activities, free haircuts, and social welfare services, engaging directly with residents to hear their concerns and suggestions.

Minister Akkhara explained the ministry’s commitment to delivering tangible results through its “4 Quick” strategy: Reducing household expenses for vulnerable families, creating local income through community economies, resolving household debt to restart lives, and enhancing the skills of social workers at all levels. He highlighted the “3H” approach which is Heart, Head, Hand, showing work driven by compassion, strategic planning, and action for public well-being.

“This visit reinforces our commitment to supporting both our staff and the people of Chonburi,” said Minister Akkhara. “We want to address social challenges sustainably, standing by every Thai citizen to build a strong, warm, and inclusive society.”

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security reaffirmed its dedication to building a resilient Thai society where no one is left behind.
