PATTAYA, Thailand, October 24th, 2025 – Pattaya City Mayor Mr. Poramese Ngampichet chaired a meeting to discuss the organization of a “Lifeguard Safety Training” program aimed at improved water safety for tourists. The meeting, held at the Pattaya City Hall reception room, was attended by heads of government departments and relevant officials.
Dr. Nantachai Panyasurarit, Director of the Thailand Safety and Health Promotion Institute (TSSO), presented the training framework designed to enhance the skills of local personnel, particularly hotel operators and staff, in providing proper and safe water rescue techniques.

Recognizing Pattaya’s status as an international tourism hub, TSSO stressed the importance of elevating water safety standards. The institute proposed working with Pattaya City and the National Institute for Emergency Medicine, under royal patronage, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This partnership aims to boost tourist confidence and reinforce Pattaya’s image as a safe travel destination.

Mayor Poramese discussed Pattaya’s ongoing commitment to water rescue and safety training, noting that hotel operators are already required to ensure staff are equipped with lifesaving skills. The upcoming MOU will further proactive efforts by enhancing expertise and building teamwork among agencies.

Pattaya City will serve as a coordinator, inviting hotel associations and relevant organizations to participate in the training.
