Sriracha, Thailand – On October 21st, 2025, Sriracha Municipality organized a tree-planting event at Sriracha Health Park to mark National Tree Day, aiming to build awareness of environmental conservation and the restoration of natural resources in urban areas.

Led by Mayor Chatchai Timkrachang, the event saw participation from municipal officials, department heads, staff, and employees who joined together to plant trees, apply fertilizer, till soil, and water the saplings. The initiative aligns with the Thai government’s designation of October 21 as “National Tree Day,” a day dedicated to promoting the importance of trees and forests as vital natural resources essential to human life.

Sriracha, a densely populated urban hub filled with high-rise buildings, condominiums, and limited green spaces, faces challenges in maintaining natural areas. The municipality organized this event to engage the community in restoring the environment by planting trees, raising awareness about conservation, and addressing issues such as climate change, air pollution, soil erosion, and carbon dioxide absorption. Trees also provide oxygen, serve as habitats and food sources for wildlife, and contribute to economic and social benefits by enhancing the city’s aesthetics and improving residents’ quality of life.

The event shows Sriracha Municipality’s commitment to creating a greener, more sustainable urban environment while encouraging collective responsibility for preserving the nation’s forests and natural resources
