German Tourist Injured After Falling into Manhole in Pattaya

Pattaya, Thailand – At 4:30 AM on October 21st,, 2025, the Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received a report of a foreign tourist injured after falling into a manhole. The incident occurred in front of Soi 14. Police and rescue teams were then dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities found a foreign man with abrasions on his left knee. Initial first aid was provided, but the injured man declined hospital treatment, opting to return to his accommodation. He was later identified only as Mr. Christoph, a 28-year-old German national.

Eyewitnesses reported that the tourist was walking along the sidewalk as usual when he stepped onto a manhole cover. The cover flipped, causing his leg to fall into the manhole. Rescue personnel were notified and quickly responded to assist.

Local residents and witnesses have urged Pattaya city officials to inspect the area to prevent similar incidents in the future.
