Drunk Foreigner Strips Naked, Prays to God at Busy Pattaya Intersection

PATTAYA, Thailand – On October 20th, 2025, at 9:00 AM, Pattaya City Police received reports of a foreign man, approximately 40 years old, standing naked in the middle of a busy intersection at Pattaya South Road (Chaimongkol Temple Intersection). The man, whose nationality remains unknown, was reportedly intoxicated and behaving erratically.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Phanuphong Nimsuwan, Traffic Inspector at Pattaya City Police Station, coordinated with patrol officers and rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a tall, Caucasian man standing completely naked in the middle of the intersection. He was seen chasing and hitting passing vehicles, while screaming what appeared to be biblical verses, causing confusion among locals and tourists. At times, the man raised his arms toward the sun, appearing to pray or chant to a deity.

Officers quickly detained the individual, who appeared heavily intoxicated and was incoherent, unable to answer any questions and without any form of ID. He was taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for medical evaluation and to identify him.

Mr. Chatchai Yaiyati, a 51-year-old local motorbike taxi driver, described the incident to The Pattaya News. “This morning, this foreigner was acting crazed, walking naked along Pattaya South Road before stopping at the intersection. He was hitting cars and sometimes chanting or praying to God. We called the police and tried to keep him from wandering off until they arrived.”

Parts of the incident were captured by bystanders, and CCTV cameras in Pattaya also recorded the man’s behavior clearly. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.
