Banglamung Police Arrest Notorious Armed Drug Trafficker in North Pattaya

Banglamung, Chonburi – October 16th, 2025 – Local authorities and police jointly arrested a notorious drug trafficker known as “Mr. Bird Naklua” during a targeted operation, seizing a cache of methamphetamine pills, crystal meth, and an illegal firearm, officials announced Friday.

The raid was overseen by Chonburi Governor Naris Niramaiwong and directed by Banglamung District Chief Patcharapat Sritanyanon. It involved administrative officials led by Wanachai Wanpram, head of the district’s administrative operations group, alongside Kamphai Laosan and other local enforcement officers, in coordination with police.

The action stemmed from public complaints received via the Line application “Hak Dib Bang Lamung – Broken Down Banglamung,” reporting illegal drug sales near the Naklua Fish Bridge.

Investigations identified the suspect as Mr. Noparat Chaemcharoen, alias “Mr. Bird Naklua,” who was known for peddling narcotics in the area. Officers deployed an undercover agent to make a controlled buy and surveilled his movements. The arrest occurred when the suspect arrived at the agent’s residence in Soi Naklua 12 on a motorcycle.

A preliminary search uncovered a 9mm handgun tucked into his waistband, loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, along with a quantity of methamphetamine pills on his person. Expanding the search, authorities inspected a fishing boat docked at the Naklua Fish Bridge, yielding additional pills and crystal meth.

Further checks at Bird’s residence revealed a substantial haul of drugs and distribution tools. Seized items included:

– 297 methamphetamine pills (yaba)
– 74.32 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ice)
– One 9mm pistol
– 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition
– 5 rounds of .22 LR ammunition
– Drug paraphernalia, a digital scale, and zip-lock plastic bags

Bird was detained along with all evidence and handed over to investigators at Banglamung Police Station. He faces charges under Thai law for possession of narcotics for sale and unauthorized possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Authorities vowed to pursue accomplices and dismantle the network, aligning with Governor Niramaiwong’s “Safe Chonburi Free from Drugs and Vices” policy to eradicate drug trafficking in the region.
