Pattaya Mayor Gives Update on Jomtien Beach Road Construction, Two Way Traffic to Return, New Uniforms for Beach Vendors

Pattaya, Thailand– On October 16th, 2025, Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngampichet, accompanied by members of the Pattaya City Council from District 4, visited Jomtien Beach to distribute uniform shirts to beach massage operators and service providers in designated zones. A total of 231 shirts were handed out, aimed at enhancing the area’s professional image and supporting local entrepreneurs during the low season.

The initiative mainly targeted Jomtien’s massage therapists, who received 101 pink T-shirts, and operators in the regulated “free zones,” who were given 130 blue shirts. The event shows Pattaya’s efforts to organize beachfront businesses, promoting cleanliness, order, and hygiene standards.

Mayor Poramese told The Pattaya News that the shirt distribution is part of a broader beachfront regulation program. “This helps create a tidy and hygienic image while providing moral support to operators as they navigate the slower low-season period and focus on legitimate livelihoods,” he said.

In related developments, Pattaya authorities are actively revamping Jomtien Beach’s landscape, with completion expected by the end of 2025. Key improvements include sand replenishment coordinated with the Marine Department, upgrades to sidewalks, electrical systems, and water pumping stations. These enhancements are designed to accommodate the influx of tourists during the upcoming high season. Additionally, plans are underway to revert Jomtien Beach Road from its current one-way system back to two-way traffic once construction projects conclude. The exact date, however, is not yet finalized.

The moves reflect Pattaya’s commitment to revitalizing its key tourist attractions, ensuring they remain appealing and efficient for visitors. Local operators have welcomed the support, viewing it as a timely boost amid seasonal challenges.
