Pattaya, Chonburi – October 16, 2025- A chaotic late-night incident unfolded in LK Metro,, where an unidentified foreign tourist, appearing heavily intoxicated, allegedly assaulted a disabled Thai man, sparking outrage among locals who then mobbed and subdued him. The man later spat at responding officers, leading to his arrest on charges of public intoxication, assault, and resisting arrest.
The disturbance occurred around 11:50 p.m. on October 15th in the popular LK Metro area. Eyewitnesses, including residents and tourists, captured video footage of the shirtless man – dressed only in jeans and stumbling erratically – ranting and lashing out at passersby, grabbing women randomly, and causing panic in the crowded nightlife zone.
According to police reports, the tourist had arrived earlier on LK Metro with a Thai woman and got into an argument over allegedly missing money, which triggered his violent outburst. He then appeared to randomly push a disabled Thai man to the ground, said police, prompting furious locals and security guards from nearby venues to intervene. The crowd subdued the aggressor in a tense confrontation witnessed by tourists in the area.

Pol. Lt. Col. Suchat Dusadee, deputy chief of Pattaya City Police Station’s patrol division, led a rapid response team to the scene after receiving reports. Arriving within five minutes, officers found the 30- to 40-year-old foreigner already restrained by guards and locals. As police attempted to take custody, the man became agitated, verbally abusing officers and spitting on them in defiance and refusing to cooperate, according to Lt. Col. Suchat.
“The incident started when we were alerted to a foreigner, seemingly under the influence of alcohol or other substances, attacking a disabled Thai person by shoving him down,” Pol. Lt. Col. Suchat told reporters. “Locals were rightfully upset and took matters into their own hands. Upon arrival, he resisted questioning, cursed at us, and spat – forcing us to arrest him for everyone’s safety.”

The tourist was detained at the station to calm down, be tested for illegal substances, and be charged with various legal offenses. His name and nationality were not given as the suspect refused to answer questions and was in an erratic state, said police.
Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage and witness statements to determine if additional charges will be filed.
