PATTAYA, Thailand – On October 13th, 2025, at 12:46 a.m., the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit in Pattaya received a report of an assault resulting in serious injury. The incident occurred in front of a market on Pattaya Second Road. Pattaya City Police and volunteer rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
At the location, authorities found Mr. Rama Krishna, a 52-year-old Indian national, lying unconscious in a pool of blood with a severe head injury sustained from hitting the ground. Rescue personnel administered first aid, including CPR, to stabilize him before rushing him to a nearby hospital. The assailant had fled the scene before police arrived.
According to a motorcycle taxi driver who witnessed the incident, the altercation began when Mr. Krishna was urinating against a roadside fence. A Thai man nearby informed him that public urination was prohibited and directed him to use the restroom facilities available at the market. Mr. Krishna reportedly ignored the advice, and his friend allegedly argued aggressively with the driver. The situation escalated, leading to a physical confrontation where the Indian tourist was pushed, causing him to fall backward and strike his head on the ground.
A friend of the injured man provided a slightly different account, stating that four Thai individuals, not one, confronted Mr. Krishna for urinating in public, leading to a heated argument. The altercation turned violent, with one of the Thai individuals allegedly punching and shoving Mr. Krishna, causing him to fall and hit his head on the road. Both parties admitted that Mr. Krishna had, however, chosen to urinate in public.
CCTV footage captured parts of the incident and has been handed over to the police as evidence. Authorities are now working to identify and apprehend the suspect to face legal action.
Good Samaritans at the scene alerted emergency services, ensuring swift assistance for the injured tourist. The investigation is ongoing.
