PATTAYA, Thailand – October 13th, 2025 – A 31-year-old Brazilian woman, identified as Miss Silva, was arrested in Pattaya early this morning after allegedly assaulting a traffic police officer during a routine traffic stop.

At approximately 2:06 AM, Deputy Inspector Siwakorn Somsura, a traffic officer from Pattaya City Police Station, was conducting routine traffic enforcement when he said he observed a foreign national riding a motorcycle against traffic flow on Pattaya Second Road toward Beach Road without wearing a safety helmet. The officer stopped the rider, described as a foreign woman, intending to issue a warning for the traffic violations.

However, the situation escalated when the woman, later identified as Miss Silva, allegedly reacted aggressively. According to Deputy Inspector Siwakorn, she became irate, uncooperative, and verbally abusive when informed of the traffic violations and the impending fine under Thailand’s Road Traffic Act. Her agitation intensified, leading her to allegedly punch the officer in the face and spit on him. Despite efforts to restrain her, including the use of handcuffs, she continued to resist, kicking the officer’s backside and spitting again.

Despite the assault, Deputy Inspector Siwakorn remained calm, maintaining a professional demeanor. He told reporters, “While enforcing traffic discipline, I noticed this individual riding against traffic without a helmet. When I attempted to issue a warning, she became furious and attacked me. We had to call for backup to apprehend her.”

Miss Silva was taken into custody and is now facing multiple charges, including assaulting an on-duty police officer, resisting law enforcement, and violations of the Road Traffic Act for riding against traffic and failing to wear a helmet. She has been detained at Pattaya City Police Station and will face further legal proceedings.
