BO THONG, Thailand – On October 8th, 2025, a multi-agency meeting was held at the Bo Kwang Thong Subdistrict Municipality Office in Bo Thong District to address the ongoing issue of an alleged unauthorized factory construction by Chinese investors.
The meeting, attended by Col. Jakrapong Pantumongkol, Deputy Director of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Chonburi, along with representatives from the Chonburi Provincial Industry Office, Environmental and Urban Planning Departments, Bo Thong District officials, Bo Kwang Thong Mayor Phubet Phongchomphu, and Chinese investors, aimed to resolve the escalating conflict over the illegal construction in Village 4 of the Bo Kwang Thong Subdistrict.
The issue stems from the Chinese-funded factory allegedly initiating construction without proper permits. The Bo Kwang Thong Municipality previously filed a complaint with the Bo Thong Police Station, leading to a court order to halt construction. However, the factory allegedly continued its operations in defiance of the court’s ruling, sparking repeated clashes with local residents who have opposed the project from the outset.

During the meeting, authorities issued a strict order for the factory to cease all construction activities, as the case is currently under appeal in court. The municipality reiterated its directive to suspend work, warning that failure to comply would result in severe legal consequences. Mayor Phubet Phongchomphu stated the need for adherence to legal processes to prevent further tensions with the community.
The situation remains under close scrutiny, with authorities committed to enforcing the court’s orders and protecting the interests of local residents.
