Phanat Nikhom, Chonburi – On October 6th, 2025, at 7:00 PM, the Moon Festival, a cherished tradition in Phanat Nikhom, Chonburi Province, took place in the municipal area. The event, considered the second most significant celebration after the Chinese New Year for Thai-Chinese communities, featured a grand parade led by the renowned Eng Kor procession, winding through the town’s main streets.

The 22nd Moon Festival was officially opened by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Suchart Chomklin. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Assistant Minister of Industry, Sub-Lieutenant Yotsingh Liamlert, Chonburi District 5 MP Mr. Anan Preeda Suthijit, Phanat Nikhom Police Station Superintendent Pol. Col. Thammarat Akkarachaiyaphong, Phanat Nikhom Mayor Mr. Thammarat Petchwutthikrai, and a large gathering of local residents.

The Moon Festival, observed on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, holds deep cultural significance for Thai-Chinese communities in Phanat Nikhom. The tradition builds prosperity, unity, and love among participants while promoting local tourism. Highlights of the event included the Moon Goddess pageant, a mooncake altar decoration contest, a mooncake-eating competition, and performances such as the Eng Kor show by the Tek Kao Phanat Nikhom Foundation, a lion and dragon dance by the Nakhon Sawan Golden Dragon troupe, and a riddle-solving activity. The festival also featured numerous activity booths, food stalls, and local vendors, creating a lively atmosphere for all attendees.
