Motorcycle Taxi Driver Found Dead in Sri Racha Apartment, Tragic Backstory Revealed

Sriracha, Chonburi – A 54-year-old motorcycle taxi driver was found dead in his apartment in Sriracha, Chonburi, on October 7th, 2025, in a sad incident believed to be linked to grief and underlying health issues. The man, identified as Mr. Chatchai Saisanoi, was discovered lifeless in his room on Moo 11 in the Nong Kham Subdistrict, after a friend brought food to his apartment.

Police and rescue workers from the Sawang Prateep Sriracha Foundation responded to the scene at approximately 11:00 AM following a report of an unexplained death. At the third-floor apartment, authorities found Mr. Chatchai lying face-up on his bed. There were no signs of foul play, violence, or property disturbance, with a fan still running and his belongings intact.

According to friends, Mr. Chatchai had been living alone since his wife of over 30 years was fatally struck by a vehicle two to three months prior. The loss left him deeply depressed, withdrawn, and unable to eat properly. He reportedly consumed only small amounts of milk and struggled with multiple chronic illnesses, including hypertension and diabetes.

Mrs. Nuchanart Thongjue, 51, a close acquaintance, shared to The Pattaya News that Mr. Chatchai had been despondent since his wife’s death. “He barely spoke to anyone after she passed. He couldn’t eat, saying he had no appetite. He was already quiet, but it got worse,” she said, speculating that his death may have stemmed from heartbreak compounded by his health conditions.

Mr. Rak Phiandee, 63, a fellow motorcycle taxi driver, revealed that friends had tried to console Mr. Chatchai, encouraging him to move on and socialize to ease his loneliness. “We told him not to dwell on it, but he said losing his wife wasn’t the same as a breakup. Just days ago, we even joked that he wouldn’t last the month if he kept isolating himself. He looked weak, like he had no energy,” Mr. Rak said. Friends had considered taking him to a doctor but were unable to convince him.

Police documented the scene and collected evidence before transferring Mr. Chatchai’s body to Laem Chabang Hospital for an autopsy. Authorities are coordinating with his relatives to arrange for funeral rites in accordance with religious customs.

The incident has left the local community mourning the loss of a man who, overwhelmed by grief and illness, succumbed to his struggles alone.
