Pattaya, Chonburi, October 4th, 2025 A 57-year-old Japanese tourist was punched in the face during an early morning altercation in Pattaya, leaving him with a broken nose and profuse bleeding, according to local rescue workers. The incident unfolded around 4:30 AM.

The Pattaya Rescue Center received an emergency call reporting an assault on a foreigner near the entrance of Soi 13 Chalermprakiat. Rescue teams rushed to the scene and found the victim, identified as Mr. Honda, a Japanese national, slumped beside his blue Scoopy i motorcycle. Honda had sustained severe facial injuries, including a fractured nose with blood streaming down his face.

Rescuers provided immediate first aid at the site, but Honda declined transport to a hospital, insisting instead on returning to his hotel. Authorities urged him to file a police report at Pattaya City Police Station, but he refused and was allowed to leave after initial treatment.

Eyewitnesses described a tense confrontation that escalated rapidly. One observer told The Pattaya News about watching Honda park his scooter at the soi entrance when a single Thai man on a motorcycle pulled up behind him. What began as a heated verbal exchange quickly turned physical, with the assailant landing punches on the tourist before fleeing on his bike at high speed. No arrests have been made, and the motive remains unclear, though police suspect it may stem from a roadside dispute.

Pattaya police expressed frustration over the victim’s reluctance to cooperate, noting that such incidents often go unreported, complicating investigations. Authorities are reviewing nearby CCTV footage in hopes of identifying the suspect, despite the victim not wanting to file charges.
