Pattaya, Thailand – On October 2nd, 2025, a 19-year-old Lao woman, identified only as Ms. Da (name changed), reported a incident to the media after surviving a violent robbery and attempted sexual assault. The incident occurred around 4:00 AM at her residence in Pattaya, where an unidentified man allegedly forcibly entered her room, assaulted her, and stole her iPhone 15, valued at approximately 26,000 baht.
According to Ms. Da, she was doing laundry when the suspect entered her room under the pretense of needing to use the bathroom. When she refused, the man ignored her, pushed her against a wall, and forced her to the floor in the bathroom. Ms. Da resisted and screamed for help, prompting the attacker to kick her in the face, causing injuries, before fleeing the scene with her phone and locking the door from the outside. Her cries and banging on the door alerted neighbors, who came to her rescue.
CCTV footage captured the suspect, described as a man of medium build wearing a yellow shirt with a blue collar, black long pants, white flip-flops, and carrying a large white backpack. The footage shows him methodically checking doors room by room before entering Ms. Da’s residence. Screams were heard shortly after, and the suspect was seen fleeing the scene. Neighbors responded to the commotion, assisting Ms. Da in escaping the locked room.
Ms. Da reported the incident to Pattaya City Police Station, filing a complaint with Police Lieutenant Krittiphong Thaengkan, Deputy Inspector of Investigations. She provided the CCTV footage as evidence. Authorities have since mobilized an investigative team to track down the suspect based on the description and video evidence, vowing to bring the perpetrator to justice.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
