Pattaya, Thailand – In a coordinated operation, Banglamung District authorities and Pattaya City Police arrested a notorious drug dealer known as “Ann Naklua” following a tip-off from the public via the LINE application “Broken Down Banglamung.” The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Chatklom Rungsangchon, was apprehended for distributing illegal drugs to small-scale dealers and users in the Pattaya area.
According to Banglamung District Chief Patcharaphat Srithanyanon, the operation was launched after receiving information about Chatklom’s activities, which involved peddling drugs along Pattaya Beach and in Soi 13/1. Acting on the tip, administrative officials, led by Wanchai Wannaphrom, Head of Administrative Affairs, and Kamphrai Laosaen, a senior official from the Office of Narcotics Control Board, teamed up with Pattaya City Police to investigate.
Authorities devised a sting operation, arranging for an undercover agent to purchase ketamine and methamphetamine (locally known as “ice”) from Chatklom in front of a daily rental room in Soi 13/1 on Pattaya Beach. When Chatklom arrived on a grey Forza motorcycle to deliver the drugs, officers moved in, arresting him on the spot. A search revealed five ketamine pills in his possession.
Following the arrest, officials conducted a search of Chatklom’s three-story townhouse in Naklua. On the third floor, they discovered two firearms stored in a black box, along with 50 rounds of ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and numerous zip-lock bags. In the ground-floor parking area, a black storage box was found that contained a large quantity of drugs, including 132 methamphetamine pills (yaba), 91.88 grams of crystal methamphetamine (ice), and 23 ecstasy pills. A digital scale and drug packaging equipment were also seized.
Chatklom, alias “Ann Naklua,” was taken into custody and handed over to Pattaya City Police for legal proceedings. He faces charges of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
District Chief Patcharaphat urged the public to report any drug-related activities or other illegal behavior through the “Broken Down Banglamung” LINE application. He also discussed the commitment of administrative and police forces to investigate leads, bring offenders to justice, and build drug-free communities in the region.
