Chonburi, Thailand – A fire tore through four workers’ residences in Sriracha, Chonburi, on the evening of October 1st, 2025, leaving the structures completely destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported as the occupants, all drivers for a transport company, were still at work during the incident.

Authorities suspect an electrical short circuit as the likely cause, though investigations are ongoing. The extent of the financial loss has yet to be determined, but valuable belongings inside the homes were reduced to ashes.

The blaze was reported at approximately 7:00 PM at a row of four workers’ homes located at 189/39, Moo 3 in the Bueng Subdistrict of Sri Racha. The Chonburi Municipality’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Radio Center received the emergency call and quickly dispatched two fire trucks to the scene. Firefighters were joined by rescue personnel from the Pure Yeang Tai Sriracha unit and officers from the Nong Kham Police Station.

Upon arrival, responders found flames rapidly engulfing the four wooden and corrugated metal homes, with fire and thick smoke billowing into the night sky. Nearby residents acted quickly, moving motorcycles and a pickup truck to safety. Firefighters deployed two fire trucks to battle the blaze, which had spread across all four interconnected homes. Despite their efforts, the structures and all contents inside were completely destroyed. The firefighting operation took approximately 30 minutes to bring the situation under control.

Ms. Chonthicha Sutthisaat, 32, the owner of the transport company, discussed the fire with The Pattaya News team. She was at a parking area about 50 meters from the residences when she noticed smoke rising from the workers’ homes. Initially mistaking it for someone burning trash—a common occurrence in the area—she sent an employee to investigate. “They shouted back that it was a fire,” she said. “I rushed over and saw the flames spreading so fast. We called the firefighters immediately, but by the time we got there, the fire had already consumed everything.” Ms. Chonthicha noted that the homes housed around five employees, all of whom were away working at the time. “The damage is significant,” she added. “We couldn’t save anything from the fire.”

Police are set to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, with preliminary findings pointing to a possible electrical short circuit.
