Midnight Burglary Shocks Pattaya Area Resident as Thief Steals Wallet

Pattaya, Thailand – In the early hours of September 29th, 2025, a 51-year-old woman was left shaken after a brazen thief slipped into her home and stole her wallet in the middle of the night. The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred at approximately 1:24 a.m. at a residence in Soi Ban Lang 8 in Nongprue.

Ms. Ratchaneekorn Homhual, the homeowner, explained the chilling ordeal to The Pattaya News reporters. She was resting in her bedroom when she noticed her pet cat dart out of the room in an unusual panic. Suspecting her son might have brought a friend over, she called out to him, only to find him fast asleep. Growing suspicious, Ms. Ratchaneekorn stepped outside to investigate and was stunned to see a stranger, described as a tall, thin young man wearing a T-shirt, shorts, flip-flops, and a full-face helmet to conceal his identity, hurriedly leaving her property.

Upon checking her belongings, Ms. Ratchaneekorn discovered her wallet missing. The wallet contained only 300 baht in cash, but more importantly had her ID card and other important documents. Fortunately, she had recently transferred most of her money to a bank account, minimizing her financial loss. However, the incident left her deeply shaken. “I was terrified,” she said. “This has never happened before, and it’s made me feel so unsafe.”

CCTV footage revealed the thief casually entering the house, surveying the area, and snatching the wallet before calmly walking away. Ms. Ratchaneekorn noted that she often left her door unlocked, believing the area to be safe. However, she mentioned a recent increase in groups of youths gathering near her home at night to drink kratom juice, which may have provided an opportunity for the thief to strike.

Ms. Ratchaneekorn plans to file a further police report at Nongprue Police Station, urging authorities to review the CCTV footage and apprehend the culprit.
