Pattaya, Thailand – A deadly brawl between rival Myanmar gangs left two people dead and one seriously injured in the early hours of September 30th, 2025. The incident occurred at 6:06 AM on a sidewalk along South Pattaya Road, near the traffic light intersection by the Land Office, close to the Bali Hai overpass.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Suthiraphan Thapsri, an investigator at Pattaya City Police Station, received a report of a violent assault with casualties. He immediately informed Police Colonel Anek Sratongyoo, the station’s chief, and rushed to the scene with investigative officers and rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation.
At the scene, authorities discovered the body of an unidentified Myanmar man with a stab wound to the chest, pronounced dead on-site. A 15-centimeter fruit knife was found approximately 10 meters from the body. Nearby, another Myanmar man was found dead with two stab wounds to his back. A third victim, identified as Mr. Soe Na, 20, was seriously injured and received immediate medical attention. Police secured the area, restricting access to prevent interference with the investigation.
An eyewitness, Mr. Bai, 27, reported seeing the victims running from a larger group chasing them before the violent clash erupted. Initially believing it to be a minor scuffle, he alerted the police, unaware of the severity of the incident.
A translator assisting the police revealed that the victims and perpetrators, all Myanmar nationals, had a prior conflict stemming from a dispute at a football field. The confrontation escalated when the groups encountered each other on the street, resulting in the deadly clash.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Siriwat Katchamat, Deputy Superintendent of Pattaya Police, issued an immediate alert to apprehend the suspects based on descriptions provided by witnesses. Investigative teams have been deployed to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
